SLEEP SOLUTIONS
Do you snore?
If you snore, you are mosts likely disturbing your sleep partner and affecting your relationship. It is also 30% likely that you have sleep-disordered breathing, also known as apnea. Sleep apnea is a serious condition that if untreated can result in fatigue, workplace/motor vehicle accidents, and other health related issues (blood pressure/heart/lungs). Sleep apnea is also often associated with gastric reflux (GERD) and night-time tooth grinding. Often, the treatment for sleep apnea is a CPAP machine, which is cumbersome and unpleasant.
Are you looking for a CPAP alternative?
Oral Appliance Therapy is often an effective alternative to CPAP for patients suffering from obstructive sleep apnea. With this approach, our office will fabricate a custom-fitted oral appliance for your mouth to wear while you sleep. The appliance works by positioning the lower jaw and tongue in a way that minimizes airway obstruction.
A sleep study is the only true way to determine whether you have sleep apnea. To find out if you are a candidate for a snoring/sleep apnea appliance, please call us for a consultation. Dr. Lavie will review your history and will discuss all available treatment options.
